The Society for Modeling and Simulation, International (SCS) is the world’s premier professional society devoted to modeling and simulation (M&S) as a discipline and solution provider for more than 60 years. Our me membership includes individuals from industry, government and academia whose interests span all aspects of M&S. We are currently broadening our network by reaching out to corporate members as well as looking for ways to serve individual, academic, and corporate needs even better.

Senior Member Grade

The Senior Member is recognition and is conferred only upon application by a Regular Member and upon review and approval of the candidate's qualifications by an evaluation committee appointed by the VP – Membership. If you have been an SCS member for more than five years and have contributed to SCS activities, a Senior Member Grade is no additional cost but is a necessary requirement for elevation to Fellowship. A Senior Member is not merely recognition of your having been a member of the Society for some time; it signifies a level of activity in the society and the industry as recognized by your peers. In order to be eligible for this grade, a Regular Member must meet the following qualifications:

  • Ten years professional level experience in modeling & simulation and allied computer and information sciences and engineering. Up to four years of credit toward meeting this requirement may be allowed for undergraduate study in an appropriate field of science, engineering, or mathematics at an accredited institution of higher learning. Up to four years of additional credit may be allowed for graduate study at such institutions.
  • Demonstrated competence in the modeling & simulation field which may be demonstrated in some of the following ways:
    • Establishment of a professional reputation in the field.
    • Progressively more responsible positions in the field of modeling & simulation and allied computer and information sciences and engineering.
    • Contribution to technical advances in the field through professional publications.
    • Teaching of professional level courses in the field.
    • Participation in professional society activities.
