2014 Spring Simulation Multi-Conference

2014 Spring Simulation Multi-Conference (SpringSim'14)

April 13 - 16, 2014 | Grand Hyatt Tampa Bay | Tampa, FL, USA

The Spring Simulation Multi-Conference 2014 (SpringSim'14) brings leading experts in various domains of Modeling and Simulation together. The Theory of Modeling and Simulation (TMS/DEVS 2014) will be a sub-conference of SpringSim.

The SpringSim'14 Organization Committee is:

The following symposia are organized under SpringSim'14.

Simulation Exploration Experience (website)

The “Simulation Exploration Experience” (SEE) is both an annual international inter-university modeling and simulation (M&S) event and a growing number of interactive problem solving experiences to support modeling and simulation education and job readiness. Formerly known as “Smackdown” (from 2011-2013), SEE breaks down barriers to M&S employability. SEE gives participants the modeling, simulation and design (MS&De) education and experience resource. Teams learn the importance of standards and the value of interoperability and teamwork.

For the annual event at the Spring Simulation Conference, teams learn to work with knowledgeable mentors in a highly dispersed environment using standards and simulation software which are in high demand and seldom taught in universities. The experience makes them job-ready.

Teams using High Level Architecture (HLA) create and test models for a simulated mission on the far side of the moon. With few universities offering a major in M&S, our team responded to suggestions and with leveraged opportunities to: introduce students to M&S, offer them mentoring support to learn scenario development, user interface design or technical infrastructure, system architecture and potential for application in marketing, web development, manufacturing, healthcare and cyber security.
