The 2012 Power Plant Simulation Conference (PowerPlantSim’12) is an annual conference sponsored by The Society for Modeling and Simulation International (SCS). The focus of this conference is Nuclear and Fossil Power Plant Training Simulators and can include presentations by technology and industry leaders, technical sessions, panel and roundtable discussions, and vendor exhibits.
Who Should Attend
Those involved with simulator training of personnel, training managers, and anyone with an interested in power plant simulators or those who develop or use simulation tools are invited to participate and present their original papers/presentations.
Suggested Presentation Topics
Use of simulators for other than operator training; I/O Upgrades; ANS-3.5-2009 implementation strategies and lessons learned; Low cost solutions for simulator maintenance; Virtual simulation technologies; “What’s In Your Toolbox” – Innovations to simulation; “Simulators For Newbies” – Familiarization of the simulator business; Re-staffing, knowledge transfer/retention of simulator personnel; Simulator/plant event analysis; AP1000 simulators, DCS validation; Recent simulator operating experience
Additional Suggested Topic for Fossil Track: “Using Simulator-based Training for Utility Work Force Transition and Rebuilding” (note: there is no restriction on Fossil Track topics for PPS’12, but presentations that in some way address this theme would be greatly appreciated)
Utility presentations and vendors co-presenting with utility presentations will be given first priority. All submittals will be reviewed and considered.
